Seeing how I watch a ton of D1 lacrosse for the LaxFactor Podcast I end up seeing a couple of Siena games as I closely follow a lot of the NY colleges. I was pleased when I saw that Siena had picked up Caden Olmstead out of Forks. Olmstead was named to the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin Greater Binghamton Elite 10 Boys Lacrosse Team (should have thought up a shorter name) in addition to being named the Binghamton Player of the Year.

He put up a monster 107 goals in his senior season alone. He has some pretty hefty company in terms of the record books for that goal total.

Connor Fields (UAlbany & PLL) is #30 on the all time single-season goals list on LaxRecords.com with 108 goals in 2014.

Ethan Walker (Denver & PLL) is #28 on the list for his 108 goals scored in the 2016 season, his senior year.

Guys below Caden…Kevin Lindley (Loyola), 106 goals in 2017. Zed Williams (Virginia, MLL/PLL/NLL) scored 101 goals in 2010 for Silver Creek as a freshman (wasn’t on the list again after that).

This is all to say that Olmstead is a born finisher with solid size (listed at 6′ 1″) and plays incredibly well all over the left side of the field. I’m not sure when he’ll find his way onto the field for Siena, but I’ll be holding my breath until that day hits because I’m rooting for him (unless he’s playing against Syracuse, in that case forget him).
