I’ve been watching the career of Andy Davis (out of Whitney Point) since he was in 8th grade. A little hobbit of an attackman in high school, but both “fast and quick” (because those are two different things) and had a motor that didn’t quit. Match that up with elite stick skills and lacrosse IQ and I (and everyone else) knew this kid would do well at the next level.
After seeing very little action in the covid-shortened 2020 season, Davis appeared in 14 games in 2021 for the Griffins putting up 8 goals and 2 assists off 11 shots. He also picked up 4 groundballs and a forced turnover. What was impressive about his 2021 season, the kids shooting percentage was bonkers, 72.7 percent. I’d almost think that was a data entry error, but let’s give it to him because…
In 2022 Davis stepped up big time and got a ton of burn. He put up a bunch of points to go with that field time contributing 46 points off 31 goals and 15 helpers. He put up a career high 4 goals and 3 assists in a 3 goal loss to Tampa.
He put up 2 goals and 2 assists off 5 shots in Seton Hill’s final game of the year vs Mercy College, a one-goal loss in the second round of the Division II NCAA Tournament.
He’s going into his senior year this fall (of 2022) although due to covid he likely has one more year of eligibility after the 2023 season.
I wish the best of luck to Andy this upcoming season and look forward to providing updates as we get into the spring.
